Yes. Once you pair the device with the BOYA Notra app, a Starter plan is automatically activated, giving you 320 free transcription minutes per month and basic templates for daily use.

If you need higher quotas or advanced templates and features, you can upgrade to Pro/Ultimate or purchase transcription packs.

Absolutely. Your security is our top priority.

• · End-to-end encryption: Data is encrypted from your device, through transmission, and in storage. Transmission uses TLS 1.3, one of the most secure protocol, and storage employs industry-leading AES-256 encryption, ensuring your data cannot be intercepted or compromised.
• · You control your data: Recordings are all stored locally on your device by default. Audio is uploaded to the cloud only when you want to use AI features (e.g., generating notes). It is automatically deleted immediately after processing. Our cloud complies with ISO 14001, 20000 and other strict international standards.
• · Strict access control: Your data is tied exclusively to your personal account. No one can access it via the app or backend without your explicit permission.
• · Protection if device is lost: Hardware safeguards prevent data from being read, copied, or recovered, even after a factory reset.

Never. Your data belongs to you. Unless you choose cloud sync, AI transcription or summary, your data never leaves your device. Even then, once the task is done, your audio and transcripts are deleted from the cloud. We pledge never to backup your data or use it for AI training without your explicit permission.

BOYA Notra uses a "Local First" privacy strategy.

1. Deleted by mistake? 30-day grace period.
Files deleted accidentally go to the App's "Trash" for 30 days. You can restore them anytime within this period; once expired, they are permanently deleted.

2. Low on space? Use the Cloud.
Local storage on Notra and your phone is limited. When space runs low, we recommend enabling Cloud Sync to upload files for safekeeping.

3. Unbind or Delete Account = Data Wipe.
Your account is the only key to your data. Unbinding the device or deleting your account will trigger a security wipe, clearing all files on the device. If you delete your account, data on your phone and cloud will also be permanently wiped and unrecoverable. Please proceed with caution.

Recording with Notra requires device binding through the app, and core AI features such as transcription, summary, and mind maps are exclusively available via the app.

Bind the app first, then you can record offline. Recordings will auto-sync to your account once reconnected to the internet. AI transcription and summary currently requires an internet connection for optimal performance. Local transcription is planned for future updates.

STEP 2: Connect to a PC or phone via USB cable.

STEP 3: In the App, go to Me → My Device → Bluetooth Headset to pair Notra.

STEP 5: Short press to mark key moments; long press to stop (vibrates twice).

Open the app or web, connect to Notra, and files will automatically transfer to your phone or computer. You can also tap "Wi-Fi Quick Transfer" during the process. Alternatively, temporarily enable USB-C file access mode in the App settings to read files directly via cable. This mode auto-disables on shutdown, helping prevent unauthorized access if the device is lost.

Yes. Simply download the BOYA Notra app from the App Store or Google Play to get started.

Yes. A magnetic ring is included, which you can attach to your phone or phone case for secure magnetic mounting.

IP54 rated. BOYA Notra easily withstands accidental spills or sweat. However, it is not designed for underwater use, so please avoid submerging it or using it in the rain.

10 meters (approx. 32.8 ft). For the ultimate recording and transcription results, getting closer to the source is always best.

Fully charged in about 1.5 hours with all-day endurance.

Up to 24 hours of continuous recording (noise cancellation off) or about 20 hours with noise cancellation on. Charge it via USB-C. 

Open the app and check the device management page. Also, the BOYA Notra indicator will flash purple for 5 seconds when the battery is below 10%.
